Earlier in the day today, the Big FM 92.7 team and their lucky listeners got together at the Birsa chowk in Ranchi and got themselves nice and cosy in the Superdrive Nanos. You could sense their excitement as they ogled the cars.
It was nice to see an entire family with kids add an extra bit of spice to the group. One of the lucky listeners got to drive one of the Nanos, while all the others got an opportunity to go on a city drive with the entire Superdrive team in the Superdrive cars.
Post the drive, all the lucky listeners got an opportunity to go live on FM radio 92.7 and share their afternoon experience in the People’s car!

Lucky winners on the Nano Superdrive
Dr. Mujumdar, a pathologist by profession and Mr. Pankaj, from the construction business were the lucky ones to test drive the Nano Superdrive from Nagpur city to 100 kms out on the highway.
Both of them had a great time driving their respective Nano cars on the highway and were visibly elated with their experience, though a bit tired by the oppressive heat.
To etch their name and faces in history, they posed with the Superdrive nanos and the Tata Motors team at the end of their 100 kilometre long test drive.
Get, Set, Go to Raipur!!

Superdrive Nanos stand at the Centre of India!!
Today in the afternoon and under the blazing sun, we were at the Centre of India. This place is called the “Zero Mile” and is an important landmark of Nagpur and India as a whole.
Coz, this is the geographical centre of India and all corners of India are equidistant from this point.
And it was at this point today that the Superdrive Nanos of the White Route signalled their presence!!
91.1 Radio City FM and its lucky listeners test drive the Nano at Diksha Bhoomi, Nagpur!
Once our photo shoot at Diksha Bhoomi was complete, we were joined by 91.1 City FM RJ Raj and a troop of his lucky listeners. Some of them including the RJ got to test drive Laali!! And boy, were they mightily impressed.
As soon as they got into the car, the RJ exclaimed, “Who said that the Nano is a small car?”!! Once the test drives were complete, the RJ and these lucky listeners got on air to share their Nano feedback with their FM listeners.

Nano Photo Shoot: Line up in front of Futala Lake, Nagpur!
Nano Photo shoot at Kasturchand Park, Nagpur!!
The Superdrive Nanos began their drive through the city of oranges by visiting Kasturchand Park.
Kasturchand park is a fairly large place and an important landmark in Nagpur.
A lot of press photographers and media personnel were eagerly waiting to see Pinki, Chaandi and Laali in their best colours.
And these beautiful ladies did not disappoint them and happily posed for their barrage of photographs. A couple of media personnel even took them out on a short test drive!
Nanos get christened at the City of Oranges!!
Currently, we are at Nagpur, the city of Oranges and this is where we decided to conduct the christening ceremony of our Nanos!
Until today, we were referring to them as Nanos! But, then we realized that they were more than just simple Nanos to us. After all, they are an integral part of our epic road trip around India.
With this, I introduce you to Pinki, Chaandi and Laali, in their order of formation in the troop. Pinki, the cynosure of all eyes is the leader of the pack. I am sure you can guess who is who by just looking at their pretty faces in the pictures.
Nano zooms and vrooms on the Superdrive…
A smiling Nano and a heavily loaded truck – A Contrast of Sorts!!
Nano’s Eye View of the Narmada River Bridge near Itarsi in Madhya Pradesh!!
After being stuck in traffic for more than an hour, we somehow managed to find clear roads and stopped soon after to allow the rest of the Superdrive troop to join us.
The pit stop location was picturesque with the pristine looking Narmada River and its long railway and road bridges giving us company!!
Nano gets stranded in the middle of a railway crossing!
We were enroute to Nagpur when we encountered a huge line of traffic. Slowly, but steadily we inched forward. No one knew the cause and so didn’t we until we arrived at a railway crossing. Both sides of the railway crossing had more than 10 kilometres of traffic lined up.
It was bumper to bumper traffic and inching very slowly. When the traffic finally stopped, we found ourselves in the middle of the railway crossing and soon we saw that the railway crossing gates were being closed as trains were headed straight at us.
As I turned right, I saw one train coming straight at us. Then I turned left and was stunned when I saw another train coming at us. We were totally sandwiched. A jeep was also caught on the railway lines along with us.
Quickly, I gathered my senses and rushed to the railway crossing official and asked him to open the crossing gates for a brief moment so that we could go to the other side. This was done and we moved into safety zone quickly. Within 30 seconds, the trains passed us and the day was saved. Phew! What a close shave!
Pit Stop at Bheem Betika, a proposed World Heritage Site!!
We were approximately 60 kilometres out of Bhopal, when Saurav, the Customer Service Manager, Tata Motors Madhya Pradesh took an impromptu decision to take a detour towards Bheem Betika, a proposed World Heritage Site. And what a brilliant decision it turned out to be…
This place is one of Madhya Pradesh’s famous tourist attractions as it contains really old, but simple paintings in the confines of sandstone caves. These paintings depict life thousands of years back in the form of horse-fighting techniques, basic art, hunting techniques, etc.
Set amidst some hillocks, these sandstone rocks and caves stand tall amidst the rest of the plains. At some points from these caves, one can get a panoramic view of the Bhopal region.
Overall, the best pit stop the White Route Nano Superdrive troop have had so far!
Chief Election Commissioner of Madhya Pradesh flags off Nano Superdrive from Mechmen Motors, Bhopal!
Mechmen Motors situated on the NH 12 highway, just outside of Bhopal has a fairly large Tata dealership. This was the location of our flag off from Bhopal and towards Nagpur.
The chief guest for this event was Mr. AV Singh, Chief Election Commissioner of Madhya Pradesh. A lot of local media and press photographers were also present to cover the event in detail.
Once the chief guest had arrived and prior to the actual flag off ceremony, there were speeches given by the Chief Election Commissioner of Madhya Pradesh, the Tata Motors Territory Manager of Bhopal and the Dealership owner.
Once the flag was waved by the chief guest, the Superdrive Nanos made their way down the long ramp. It was a great sight to see the Nanos one behind the other making their way out. Post this, the press team from the regional and national dailies soaked in the comforts of the Nano for a brief while before returning back into town.
Nagpur, here we come!!
Tata Nano brings its customers together at Bhopal!
